Fun With Our Family and Friends

Wow the holidays have come and gone once again. We have had very busy, full, enriching times with our family at our home. We have been blessed to have so many of them be a part of all
fun things from setting up the tree and having hot chocolate and goodies while doing it, decorating the house and making cookies and candies and planning Christmas Eve events, like going to the candlelight service at church, it wouldn't be Christmas Eve if we didn't do that. It is always a really exciting time for us. We all gather at our home for fun and lots of great foods to eat with all of our family and extended family and friends who will come after service at church.

This year Robert and our new daughter in law came and Nate too and spent the night and were here for Christmas morning, we had cinnamon rolls and coffee while opening up gifts. After the gifts were done we all jumped in and set a beautiful table and made eggs benedict and home fries and fruit bowl and juice and coffee. We were fortunate enough to invite a neighbor to join in and to share our Christmas Brunch with us.

Then onto cleaning up all the messes in the house and getting dressed and then it was onto making dinner. We had ham and scalloped potatoes and vegetable and home made bread and Melisa's homemade applesauce. We had all kinds of homemade cookies and candies for desserts. Of course traditional punch we do. Oh traditions are so much fun, I hope to leave them to our children. Having the men pray before we partake in the meals is always special to me...

The later afternoon was relaxing and we all enjoyed each others company. Dave and I love it all very much. Of course, we missed our daughter, Melisa and her husband John and we can't forget Hannah, Rachel and Miss Sarah sharing in our families fun and festivities. That is what it is like when they live away at time isn't it. Well they were thought of many time during the day and we talk on the phone, it was fun.

Well we just spent the remainder of the day visiting and having a great time together. And then at the end of the day everyone leaves and Dave and I have some down, alone time until our future daughter in law came into town and came and shared a gift with us and spent the night with us. In the morning she is back on her way to Syracuse until March 1st when she and Nate
will be married and she will be living here once again, as a married woman..

I just want to say to my family, all of you, thank you so much for being there for dad and I and sharing the Holidays with us, we loved it and we love you all. Love Mom and Dad
Thank You Jesus for Family and Friends , We are so blessed.....

Another LaFaver Wedding!!!

On December the 8th our son Robert married a delightful young lady, Julie Mackey. She is a joyful
young lady and we have welcomed her in our family. Dave and I are very happy for both of them.
It has been a very busy season for our family, very busy. They had a beautiful wedding and as I sat there at their wedding my tears were tears of joy for our son, God has brought someone to love him and stand beside him in life to help him carry out Gods purpose for his life. She is a woman who will do just that. We are thankful to God for this young lady. We love you Julie LaFaver.

On another happy side of this event, it brought our daughter Melisa and her husband John and our 3 beautiful little ladies, know as Hannah, Rachel and little Sarah into town and lucky us right into our home for a few days. I must say this was a wonderful time with our daughter and her family. It was long overdue for all of us. Our grand daughter Hannah was blessed by being asked to be one of the flower girls. She looked beautiful and her mom and dad were so happy to see her taking part of Uncle Roberts Wedding. There was another flower girl, Emily and she is Julies niece and she also is a beautiful little girl. They did a great job together and they looked so cute. Needless to say Nanny and Poppy where over joyed being able to spend the few days with our little ladies in our home. Thank-You Lord for these little girls.

Robert and Julie have gone away and taken a few days to spend together as a new husband and wife. I am looking forward to seeing them when they get back home. I hope they have a wonderful time while they are away. They will be moving into our home on 310 in Norfolk... I know they will like their new home, new to Julie anyhow.

Now on another note, we will be jumping right into making plans for our son Nathan as he is also
marrying a wonderful young woman, Sarah Rowland. Their wedding however, will be in the Syracuse area, yes folks we are going to be traveling for this. They are planning a wedding on the 1st of March. We are looking forward to this wedding and we are looking forward to yet having another daughter. She is a wonderful young lady and we love her too. She is a delight to have around.

In all the midst of this busyness Dave and I are still trying to get settled into our new home in
Madrid. We both are adjusting just fine. There are still many jobs to do in this home. Many little jobs and a few large ones yet. Anyone who knows my husband knows he will get it done. I called Dave a hoover and a mover. Anyone who knows Dave knows exactly what I mean by this. He is the kind of guy you don't have to motivate, but you do have to pull him back and tell him to take a break. I am thankful for this, he is a good man and dearly loved by his family...

God's Goodness

The Lord has truly been good to me. I have so many wonderful things to be thankful for. I have
been blessed with a wonderful husband. As I ponder about Liz's loss, my heart grieves for her for
the things she will never have with her late husband for only 16 short month's. God help us to not question you. In 1981 my father of only 43 short years was taken due to cancer of the pancreas.
I still miss him more than words can say. My four children never got a chance to meet this man
who was so important to me and yet connected to them in many ways. It was hard for me, only a few days away from having my first child, yet I had to say God let me not question your ways. I will however see him later as 5 months before my dad passed on, I had the honor of leading my dad to the Lord. See, I will see him later, just like Christians wife (Liz) and all of their family as well. That is reassuring to me, just as it is to them. Still, it is a loss that causes us the grieve. God said in the Word, however, there is a time for grieving. We grieve with Liz and the families too. Our God is always worthy to be praised. God is always there to be found. Our God is omnipresent.
We will hold on to the Lord and to the Word of the Lord and not be ashamed for this. God you are our God in all things.

Life is quite busy for Dave and I these days. We are busy with some good stuff though. Like usual my hubby is working hard
and doing a fine job with it I might add. We are busy with our
children as their lives are all changing too. They are all moving
on in marriages and we are very happy and excited about that.
Dave and I are quite involved with all these plans too. It really
is fun, but it is also quite a bit of work and costly too, I might add.

We are also busy trying to get Kayla and Jesse settled in their
house for the winter. They have a lot of things to do before we
are done. I am quite confident it'll will get done. Dave is on to
this so you all know it will be taken care of .

We are awaiting yet another LaFaver/ Mackey wedding on the 8th of December. Wow, we really are... Already, yes. already...
Julie and Robert have done most of the planning and the have
done a really great job. Looking forward to seeing many of our
family and friends there. It will be a great time. God has many
good things in store for them, we are sure of that.

We are all awaiting the return of the Nordberg's with their
daughter Elizabeth after the terrible loss of her beloved husband Christian. Truly this is a time of mourning for all...
We are so sorry for their loss. We are also lost for words. We
can only love you and pray for you, and we do. We are all so
sorry for this terrible thing that has happened to you all... The
Bible tell's us there is a time for mourning and now is that time.
Now is the time to lean on the Lord and not unto our own understanding. God is there to lean on, alway's...

November 12th, 2007

To all of my friends. I finally have a new laptop and I am trying to learn to do things such as this on my computer. Please bare with me as I am learning. I already have messed up and have two
of these accounts under two different names, this is the one I will keep.

Finally, a day of rest to a degree. Most people know that our lovely daughter Kayla had a beautiful reunion of vows Saturday night at the Lookout in Massena. Pastor Mike officiated this lovely event and I might say he did a wonderful job and we where all so blessed by his heart and soul that
he put into this special day for Kayla and Jesse and all of our family members. I have heard many
positive comments about how blessed people where by the sharing done by Pastor Mike. We also
had a time of prayer by parents and pastors and leaders of the church. God was there. Thanks to
all of you who could and would be there, your support was more important than you know. We do
serve a good God.

Off I go today to go to Watertown with my mom to a doctor's appointment. Who said life get's less busy just because your children have moved out. Dave and I are happy to say that we see
quite a bit of most of our children even though they don't live at home anymore. We have a
daughter who lives away from here and her and husband have 3 beautiful girls and we do not
get to see them much, but we love them all and look forward to seeing them when we do.

Our next event is on December 8th when our son Robert will marry Julie Mackey. Dave and
I are very excited about this Wedding. We both love Julie and she is a delightful addition to
our family. Dave and I are excited to see what God is going to do in their lives. They will be
moving into our home on 310 in Norfolk. It is a really busy season for our family but we are
able to pull together and work through it all and actually have fun doing it. I am proud to say our children have pulled together to help our moves and special events be very memorable to us. We love our children very much, all of them...God is so good. Let us all serve Him well....

Today was a very fun day. I got my new laptop computer. I am having a really difficult time with learning how to operate it and to understand it. Nancy French came and tried to help me. My husband and I have made a major change in our lives and we have officially moved into the Towm of Madrid. Our son Robert moved into our home in Norfolk and he will be living there in
December after the marriage of his soon to be wife, Julie Mackey. Dave and I are looking forward to Roberts marriage. We are excited to see what God has for Rob and Julie. We love them. Dave and I are adjusting to our new home and location. Our daughter Kayla will be renewing her marriage vows on November the 10th with Jesse Morrow and we are having a celebration with them, looking for God to move in their lives and expecting good things to come.
Our son Nathan will be joining in marriage March 1st 2008 with Sarah Rowland as well. Yes, Dave and I have alot going on. We are also looking forward to what God has for Nate and Sarah. Life is very interesting for us right now and very busy. We look forward to hearing from you all.
